beans fry

  • ingridients:
  • French beans - 1/4 kg stringed and chop into small pieces (par boil with salt and turmeric for 7-8 mts)
  • Pappula podi - 2 1/2 tbsps
  • Salt to taste
  • Cooking oil - 1/2 tbsp
  • For tempering/poppu/tadka:
  • Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • Dry red chillis - 2 de-seed and tear
  • Garlic cloves - 1 or 2 crushed
  • Curry leaves - a sprig

Method

  1. Heat oil in a cooking vessel, add mustard seeds and let them pop. Add fresh curry leaves, crushed garlic clove and dry chillis and saute for few secs.
  2. Add the par-boiled french beans and combine. Sprinkle 4-5 tbsps of water and place lid. Simmer for about 7-8 mts.
  3. Adjust salt and stir fry the beans without lid on high flame for 1-2 mts. Add the pappula pwd and mix well. Saute for 2-3 mts, turn off heat and serve with rice and any curry of your choice.
