onoin (ullipaya) pulusu

Ingredients:

Oil – 2 tsp
Tomatoes – 2
Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
Red chilli powder – 1 tsp
Garam masala powder – 1/4 tsp
Tamarind extract – 1 tsp
ginger garlic paste – 1/2 tsp
Curry leaves – few

 method

1. For this curry you can take very small onions like sambar onions or the small onions on spring onions.
2. Remove the upper layer and  put some cuts with knife. Heat oil in the pan and saute the onions on medium heat till they are soft. Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, ginger garlic paste   and saute for two minutes more

3.  Now add curry leaves , finely chopped tomatoes and mix well. Cover with lid and cook on medium heat till the tomatoes become soft.
4. Now add tamarind extract, cup of water, salt as required . 
5.Cook again till the onions, tomatoes and spices are well mixed .
6. When the oil starts floating on top add garam masala powder, chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or roti’s.
7.  When u dont hv any vegetables at home you can prepare a special curry with onions itself in less than ten minutes..
